The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation was founded in December, 2000 with the aim of improving the quality of life for year round residents of the Adirondacks. 

The first funding cycle began with just 7 grants, totaling $10,000, and since then the value of the foundation portfolio has seen growth through annual founder contributions and investment returns. This has enabled the Foundation to increase giving almost every year. In 2022 the Foundation awarded 33 grants. Since the Foundation was established, 1,215 grants have been awarded to area not-for-profits, totaling over $1.1 million dollars. The total awarded each year is normally equal to at least 5% of the portfolio value at that time.

Grant applications are accepted July 1st through August 31st via the online application. Please note that the application is only viewable while applications are being accepted. Grants, which typically fall in the range of $500 to $5,000, are made to accredited not-for-profit organizations within the Adirondack Park who serve the needs of the year round residents of the Park. The focus has been to support programming from arts organizations, education groups and schools, environmental organizations, and health programs (including food banks). The Foundation generally does not support capital campaigns, salary or overhead costs, or building restorations.
